It has been quite a year!

Losing friends, the flood, and fighting illness, but it's also been a year of growing, loving, and learning.

January came in with much promise rather than foreshadowing of things to come with fun at parades and the Romany Ball.

Spring showed off with bountiful harvests, Irish parades and an early Easter. We saw Wicked in New Orleans! Jordan enjoyed spring volleyball and turned 14 with choir trip at Disney! Megan survived her first year at UL and came home for the summer. We enjoyed 4th of July festivities honoring our country! Who knew the literal and figurative floods we would experience!

We served wherever we could, and prayed with whoever we found.

At church and across the city!

We all survived Jordan's head trauma and drama on top of the traumas going on all around.

We escaped for a short respite with our dear friends in Mobile.

Tearing out the old, making room for new seemed to be the byword of the year. Even Jordan's school, Christian Life Academy, was under new direction and then took on Bethany School after the flood.

Some good highlights aside from Jordan now being fully recovered - Megan got all settled in her new apartment and ended up with two guinea pigs in the process! Jordan was able to stay on the dance team even though she couldn't play volleyball. The hunt for a suitable Homecoming dress was victorious as was the team!

We are loving on family and friends during the holidays, remembering the reason for the season!

Charlie and Wynne are still doing what they can to entice more folks to visit our beautiful state - the pictures and recipes on social media don't do it justice!

We are trying to stay well and active, and we are trying to hold back gravity while the girls magically age around us!

I cannot say I'm not glad to be rid of this year! You were not very Sweet 2016. Bring on a new year!
